Pioneer Electronics expands its multimedia receiver lineup with the announcement of four new models to further weave connectivity into the driving experience. The latest models deliver smartphone connectivity, supporting the latest Android platforms (4.0 and above for compatible Android phones) as well as Apple’s latest iOS7. They are also Pioneer’s first multimedia receivers to provide USB compatibility with selected Android smartphones, providing users the ultimate convenience of plug-and-play features.
Drivers and passengers with the latest smartphone devices can also look forward to an even more seamless and connected in-car experience with the newly introduced integrated steering wheel control function.
The Multimedia receiver series is now joined by the following four models: The 7-inch touch panel AVH-X5650BT and AVH-X4650DVD as well as the 6-inch touch panel AVH-X2650BT, AVH-X1650DVD
“Smartphone devices today present endless possibilities in connectivity, and at Pioneer, we are constantly striving to extend it fully in the car to enhance every journey,” said Mr. Masayoshi Ishikubo, Senior General Manager of Pioneer Electronics AsiaCentre. “Our new range of Multimedia receivers ensures that every car becomes transformed into a ‘Connected Car’, with the ability to harness the true power of smartphone connectivity through our AppRadio Mode technology and MirrorLink, giving drivers control of their smartphone applications through our receivers,” he added.
Previously known as Advanced App Mode, Pioneer’s AppRadio allows drivers to control compatible iPhones directly from the dashboard. AppRadio Mode boasts a wide compatibility with a myriad of applications that are geared to enhance entertainment on the go.
The new range of Multimedia receivers now allow for customized steering wheel control, without the fuss of installing additional accessories. Drivers get to control certain functions and features directly from the steering wheel, and can even configure the buttons to specific functions of their preference. With easy configuration steps, drivers can easily play a music track, adjust the volume levels, skip the track, or even make a phone call directly via the steering wheel.
Attention Android fans! These new receivers are compatible with the latest smartphones running Android 4.0 or later. Users can now simply plug in to browse, select and listen to music stored on their device to a compatible Pioneer Multimedia receiver without the support of a phone application.
MirrorLink compatibility allows compatible phone users to have the convenience of having voice reading capabilities, weather, schedule and messages read out to them. Users are also able to view and control compatible third-party smartphone applications directly via the WVGA touch screen on their car dashboard. Through MirrorLink, users can enjoy direct access to the wide range of compatible applications such as audio and entertainment applications and navigation applications.
The new multimedia receivers continue to boast other features such as Bluetooth connectivity and MIXTRAX, a Pioneer technology which creates a unique nonstop listening experience by seamlessly transitioning between songs with DJ-inspired effects such as cross-fading, high-pass filter, and phaser.
The receivers will be available at Pioneer authorized dealers from October 2013.
